Audits IT won't block

An internal audit is recorded in a meeting room. Once installed and activated, the app works offline, with no audio leaving the machine and no bot to approve.

The problem

Audit, compliance and risk teams handle material that cannot go to an outside transcription service, and IT often blocks new cloud tools or browser extensions. A tool that needs a bot, a plug-in or an upload usually fails the first security review.

How it works

1. Install AirGapScribe from the Microsoft Store. There is no separate installer to approve; the Store delivers updates.
2. The Whisper Small speech model and, for Pro, the 1.1 GB assistant model ship with the app, so you can start without downloading models.
3. Record the meeting with microphone-only mode in the room, or add system audio for a video call.
4. Stop. Transcription runs on the PC. Speakers are separated as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, renamable.
5. Export .txt or .json for the working papers. With Pro, the local assistant drafts minutes, a summary, tasks and a follow-up email on the same machine.

What your security team will ask

• Does audio leave the machine? No. See what the app connects to and how to check: only a Pro license check (license key and product name), optional model downloads and Store updates.
• Does anything join the call? No bot, no meeting-room plug-in.
• Can they verify it? Yes: Resource Monitor, a PowerShell command or airplane mode, all described on the verification page. We measured the app idle on 10 October 2026 and saw no remote TCP connections; repeat the test while recording.
• Who makes it? One developer, Malow Software (Chile). Your vendor-risk process may require more than that; ask us for what you need at support@airgapscribe.com.

Honest limits

• A Pro license is validated online from time to time (a valid license keeps working up to 14 days offline). The free plan needs no license.
• Windows 10 and 11 only. Transcripts can contain errors; review before relying on them.
• Whether your organization approves it is your IT and compliance team's decision, not ours.

Questions

Will IT block it?

We cannot know your policy. Because it installs from the Microsoft Store and makes almost no network connections, it is easier to review than a cloud tool. Ask your IT team.

Does it work without internet?

After installation and activation, yes, for transcription. The license check and any optional model download need a connection.

Is the free plan enough for a pilot?

It covers sessions up to 45 minutes.
